2) EPCG Committee considers your application.

3) If approved, an email will be sent to you confirming your membership. From this email you can choose to be an Ordinary Member or an Associate Member.

ordinary and associate memberships explained

If you receive a newsletter from us via email, you're already a "member" of the EPCG.  If you have not received it as a direct email (perhaps passed on from a friend), you may not be a "member". Being a member of our Facebook page 'East Perth Local' does not make you a member of the East Perth Community Group!

As approved in our 2024 AGM, we now allow our members to become "Ordinary Members" by paying a fee.

Ordinary membership confers a number of benefits, including the right to vote at the AGM and discounts at future EPCG events. It costs only $10 a year for our members to become an Ordinary Member.

Current members who don't want to pay the fee or become Ordinary Members will remain Associate Members of the EPCG. If you are happy to be an Associate Member no further action is required. You can attend (but not vote at) general meetings and will continue to receive our newsletters and other official communications.

To pay your membership, go to your latest newsletter, find the 'Pay Your membership' button (as seen below) and click on it.

Once you have clicked the button in the newsletter, there is a short process to complete by following the prompts:

  1. Enter your email address - for existing members, this will be the address where you currently receive your newsletter.

  2. Use our secure payment platform (processed by Square) to make your payment.

  3. You'll be shown a screen which reads "Thanks For Your Membership Payment".

  4. You'll also receive an email which reads "You've ordered EPCG Ordinary Membership". Once you've received this email - which shouldn't take long - the process is complete!

You may also receive an email asking you to "Create Your New Password". This isn't a suspicious message, it is an automatic process done by the payments system, you can safely ignore it.

Your ordinary membership will last for a year from the date of subscription. You'll be notified automatically when you're approaching the end of your subscription period.

It's important that you've already lodged a membership form and been approved by the committee before making a payment. If you'd like to confirm that you're a current member, send a quick inquiry to our Membership Officer at member.eastperthcommunity@gmail.com.

If you make a payment without being in our membership database, we will treat the payment as a donation unless you lodge a membership form shortly after, or request a refund.

We encourage all members and particularly those planning to attend the AGM or nominate for the committee, to complete the ordinary membership process. Both Ordinary Members and Associate Members are welcome to attend the AGM. If capacity issues arise, Ordinary Members will be prioritised, as only they have the right to vote on any motions.

For any questions about the membership process, send an email to our Secretary  secretary.eastperthcommunity@gmail.com and we'll follow up with you as soon as possible.
